Color Dopper sonography was performed in 41 patients with scrotal disorders (30 cases of inflammatory disease, 8 cases of varicocele, and 3 cases of tumor).
Of the 30 cases of inflammatory disease (epididymitis n=19, epididymo-orchitis n=11), color dopper image demonstrated increased epididymal or testicular flow in 24(80%) cases of epididymitis, 8 cases of epididymo-orchitis). It proved to be
helpful
in
demonstrating inflammatory hyperemia and excluding the testicular torsion. All cases of varicocele were identified on color Doppler imaging, especially during Valsalva maneuvor. Color did not aid in the diagnosis of intratesticular neoplasm, but
one
cases of leukemic infiltration revealed markedly increased vascularity.
